Jesse is a Washington, DC-based editorial, commercial, and retail photographer with more than 15 years of experience. His commercial clients appreciate his creativity and technical prowess, and range from Fortune 500 companies, to startups and non-profit organizations, to labels and musicians. His editorial clients include print publications and online content delivery channels that value his ability to blend into an assignment and produce an unflinching narrative.  His wedding and portrait clients simply appreciate his friendly demeanor and his delivery of bold, attractive images that belie a mastery of light and an eye for truth and beauty.

In 2001, Jesse joined XM Satellite Radio as a software engineer, and during his time at the company has had opportunities to meet and shoot such diverse artists and acts as Rick Springfield, Trey Anastasio, the Smashing Pumpkins, and the Psychedelic Furs.  As a result, his music photography shows little care for how small or large the name—only a truthful, thoughtful stream of visual consciousness.

While in engineering school at Virginia Tech, Jesse was an active member of the Student Publications Photography Staff.  He regularly covered photo assignments for the Collegiate Times (newspaper) and The Bugle (yearbook), and he always delivered images worthy of being published.  His studies led him to such diverse documentary masters as Cartier-Bresson, Nan Goldin, and Joe McNally, and his sometimes bold, always thoughtful images illustrated hundreds of news, sports, music, and feature stories and yearbook editorials.

Jesse started shooting weddings with Anh-Tuan Bui, then-owner of Blacksburg Camera (where Jesse also helped sell used cameras, film, and service).  With a style that was unobtrusive and quiet, Jesse provided the perfect contrast to Bui’s big, smile-drawing personality, and they made a great team, catching both bold and fleeting moments.

Jesse is an active member of the American Society of Media Photographers.
